Allen Rowe was installed President by his father, Allen Rowe Sr., who 25 years previously had been installed as President of the Rotary Club of Portland.

On Sunday, July 11 th, we held our annual outing at Dick Kilroy's cottage at Little Sebago.

Marie Jose Gilmert, our student guest from Paris, France, arrived August 5th. Marie brought greetings from the Rotary Club of Abbeville France, our matching Rotary Club. The club has sent us slides and a tape recording about their club and local area.

The Director of Goodwill thanked the club for it s sponsorship of the pick-up box at Shaw's parking lot. Over 2,600 boxes were picked up at that station.

District Governor Sam Lowe visited on October 27th. This was a Ladies' Night at Carolyn's in Cape Elizabeth.

Because their regular meeting fell on Veterans Day we held a joint meeting with the South Portland Kiwanis Club on November 17th.

We entertained 20 children at a Christmas Party with Stan Milton as Santa Claus.

A joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Scarborough was held on January 5.

A father and son night was held on January 12. 

Profit on our Christmas Tree Sale was $1,101.

Ladies Night at Higgins Inn on January 22.

Father and daughter night on February 9 was a huge success with 28 daughters present.

Our club was paired with the Rotary Club of Felixstowe, Suffolk, England.

We volunteered to put a roof on the dugouts at Family Field, on Shore Road, Cape Elizabeth.

District Conference held at the Samoset Hotel, Rockland on May 19 - 21.

Our meeting place changed to Carolyn's in Cape Elizabeth for the summer in order to hold night meetings. Dinner price increased to $2.50.

Membership at the end of the year was 50.
