Madeleine Saucier, Mgr, Dacoda Maddalone, Lead
Maine Immigrants' Rights Coalition

Madeleine Saucier joined the Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition (MIRC) in September, 2021 as Manager of Programs and Community Engagement. With a practical and positive mindset, Madeleine is MIRC’s lead on social service referrals, working alongside Maine CDC and Ethnic Community-Based Organizations. In her role, she develops programming to meet the emerging needs of New Mainers, and works directly with MIRC members, community-based organizations, private businesses and state and municipal bodies to connect families and individuals to resources. Madeleine enjoys sharing MIRC’s mission, message and accomplishments to communities across Maine, from schools to service organizations like Rotary, to retirement communities.

Prior to joining MIRC, Madeleine served as a Legal Analyst for the Portland-based FordMurray Law Firm, specializing in immigration issues. In prior professional positions, Madeleine served as a Reporting and Information Officer with the Lebanon-based refugee relief organization, Basmeh & Zeytooneh (BZ) which operates 9 community centers across Lebanon and Turkey. Prior to joining BZ, she served as a consultant for the World Bank specializing in Middle East and North Africa Operations and Strategy. Her current and past volunteer work includes providing mentorship, French-language interpretation services and career coaching to new Americans.

Madeleine holds a Master of Science Degree in Migration, Mobility and Development from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), associated with the University of London, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from Barnard College of Columbia University.

Raised in France and Belgium, Madeleine is fluent in French and has studied Spanish and Arabic. That said, she has strong family ties to Maine. She lives in Portland and spends her free time exploring Maine’s beaches and trails with her two rescue dogs, Romy and Jet.

Please join me in welcoming Madeleine to our club.
