2003 Beach to Beacon

On Wednesday, March 3, Cape Elizabeth's favorite daughter, Joan Benoit-Samuelson, visited and spoke to us on Cape's Peoples Beach-to-Beacon 10K Race, the uncertainties surrounding its establishment, and the great support it gets from our local community.

We believe this was the first time that Joanie has addressed establishing a Clydesdale division within the race (you had to be there!). The Club was honored to have such a beloved visitor and such an enjoyable speaker as Joanie.
