The club had now grown to 36 members.

 

Our summer outing at Dick Kilroy's cottage on Little Sebago on July 14.

District Governor, Gaston Saucier of the Rotary Club of Quebec visited on August 21. This was a Ladies' Night at Carolyn's in Cape Elizabeth. We received a plaque from District 779 for having a yearly
attendance of over 90% and being one of the top ten clubs for the year 1962-1963.

On November 6, holiday fruit cakes were distributed to members to sell and raise funds. We sold them, we raffled them off at meetings, we gave them to speakers, and although we thought we would never see the last of them we made a profit of $450.

December 17 we held a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Scarborough when we won back the attendance trophy. We had 100% attendance for a total of 16 consecutive weeks with a club membership of 36. This was a District 779 record.

Profit from the sale of Christmas trees was $500.

 

Ladies Night was held at the Pinedale Restaurant in Scarborough with a punchbowl, dinner, and live music. Guests included
President George Frame of the Rotary Club of Portland, President
Clyde Esty of the Rotary Club of Westbrook, President Steve
Burton of the Rotary Club of Scarborough and their Rotary Anns.
This was held on Saturday, January 18.

Dick Jordan was elected Selectman of Cape Elizabeth.

 

Total charitable donations were $933. Largest donation was to South Portland Family Welfare {shoes for needy children) $150. 

 

District 779 Conference at the Choteau Frontenac in Quebec City on June 18 to 20.
